Regular Season Round 8: Pogon Prudnik - GKS Tychy 70-63

2Liga round 8 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader GKS Tychy (7-1) against fifth ranked Pogon Prudnik (5-3) 70-63 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of GKS Tychy. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Pogon Prudnik made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Forward Jaroslaw Pawlowski (199-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Szymon Kucia (194-83) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Power forward Tomasz Bzdyra (200-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for GKS Tychy. Four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Pogon Prudnik moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with AZS AWF K-ce and Sudety. GKS Tychy at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Nowa Sol. GKS Tychy will play next round against league's leader GTK Gliwice trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Pogon Prudnik will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Mickiewicz in Katowice.
