Regular Season Round 7: Asseco - Rosa Radom 84-78

We should mention about the upset which took place in Gdynia, where higher ranked Rosa Radom (4-3) lost to ninth ranked Asseco (3-4) in a road game 78-84 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 25-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Asseco looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists. The former international forward Piotr Szczotka (196-81, agency: Alti Sport) helped adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side the former international Robert Witka (205-81) responded with 19 points and American point guard Korie Lucious (180-89, college: Iowa St.) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rosa Radom's coach Wojciech Kaminski tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Asseco moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Slask Wroclaw. Loser Rosa Radom keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Anwil. Asseco will meet Slask Wroclaw (#8) on the road in the next round. Rosa Radom will play against the league's second-placed PGE Turow having rather not much hope for a victory.
