Regular Season Round 15: Gunma - Fukuoka Rizing 71-72

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Fukuoka Rizing (6-7) edged on the road 10th ranked Gunma (2-11) 72-71 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 23-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Kenya Tomori (177-84) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Fukuoka Rizing moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Yokohama BC. Loser Gunma dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round. Gunma will play again at home against Fukuoka Rizing (#6) and hope to win that game.
