Regular Season Round 8: Pacific Caesar - NSH GMC 89-63

Bottom-ranked NSH GMC (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 89-63 loss to seventh ranked Pacific Caesar (2-3) in Surabaya on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Pacific Caesar. NSH GMC managed to win fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pacific Caesar dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to NSH GMC's 36. Pacific Caesar forced 25 NSH GMC turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Airlangga Sabara (190-85) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds and center Eko Sasmito (188-85) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Pacific Caesar players scored in double figures. Forward Juliano Sucipto (188-82) responded with 21 points and 5 steals and forward Raylly Pratama Putra (195-90) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pacific Caesar maintains seventh position with 2-3 record. Loser NSH GMC still closes the standings with five games lost. Pacific Caesar will meet league's second-placed Satria Muda in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. NSH GMC will have a break next round.
