Everything went according to plan when second ranked Toyota Alvark (12-6) defeated on the road 5th ranked Chiba Jets (4-14) 66-57 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-57. Toyota Alvark made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. The former international guard Yusuke Okada (185-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. International power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners. Toyota Alvark's coach Don Beck used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) added 17 points in the effort for Chiba Jets. Toyota Alvark have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 12-6 record having four points less than leader Aishin SH. Chiba Jets lost fourteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. Toyota Alvark's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Hitachi Sunrockers.
