Regular Season Round 8: AZS AWF Krakow - UMKS Kielce 65-69

No shocking result in a game when second ranked UMKS Kielce (6-2) beat on the road 11th ranked AZS AWF Krakow (1-7) 69-65 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-11. But AZS AWF Krakow won third quarter 24-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized German power forward Alexander Machowski (205-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Jakub Dryjanski (202-82) contributed with 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. point guard Jakub Dwernicki (179-86) replied with 20 points and 4 assists and forward Mateusz Piech (196-90) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for AZS AWF Krakow. UMKS Kielce maintains second position in Group C with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader Nowa Sol, which they share with Ksiezak Lowicz. AZS AWF Krakow lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. UMKS Kielce will face league's second-placed Ksiezak Lowicz at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AZS AWF Krakow will play against Pulaski Warka (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
