Regular Season Round 6: Panathinaikos - PAOK 74-50

The game with biggest result difference took place in Athens. Local Panathinaikos (6-0) outscored 9th ranked PAOK (1-6) 74-50 on Saturday night. They outrebounded PAOK 35-18 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Panathinaikos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Jacki Gemelos (182-88, college: USC) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. International forward Ioanna Diela (175-90) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sofia Vasiliadou (175-90) who recorded 16 points and guard Dimitra Telidou (170-80) added 11 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with AE Ellinikou. Loser PAOK keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Panathinaikos will face Proteas (#3) in Voula in the next round, which may be the game of the day. PAOK will play at home against Ikaros (#6) and hope to win that game.
