Undefeated leader AE Ellinikou delivered the sixth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Aris (2-5) 67-47 in Thessaloniki. The game was mostly controlled by AE Ellinikou. Aris managed to win second period 11-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aris 50-24 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Lykendra Johnson (185-89, college: Michigan St.) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Tania Chalivera (178-85) chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four AE Ellinikou players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Evangelia Kotopodi (187-87) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and guard Roula Mouli (178-85) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AE Ellinikou (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row, which they share with Panathinaikos. Aris lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Anagenisi. AE Ellinikou will meet at home Anagenisi (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Aris will play against Athinaikos in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
