Regular Season Round 8: Basket Pila - Trefl II Sopot 68-92

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Trefl II Sopot (3-4) crushed on the road 8th ranked Basket Pila (3-5) 92-68 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-68. Trefl II Sopot dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Pila's 36. Grzegorz Kulka (203-96) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. point guard Adam Brenk (192-95) contributed with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Robert Gibaszek (192-93) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Dawid Morawiec (188-94) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Basket Pila. Trefl II Sopot moved-up to eighth place in Group A. Loser Basket Pila dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Trefl II Sopot will face higher ranked AZS UMK Torun (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basket Pila will play against Polonia W-wa in Warszawa and hope to win that game.
