Regular Season Round 6: Yamanashi QB - Denso Iris 51-79

Bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to third ranked Denso Iris (5-1) 79-51 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-51. Denso Iris dominated on the defensive end, holding Yamanashi QB to just 5 points in second quarter. They also forced 19 Yamanashi QB turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Denso Iris made 9 blocks. International power forward Maki Takada (183-89) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 6 blocks to lead the effort and guard Minami Iju (168-90) supported her with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by power forward Mika Okada (174-87) did not help to save the game for Yamanashi QB. Forward Yumiko Tsuge (170-82) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Yamanashi QB players scored in double figures. Denso Iris have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-1 record behind leader Chanson V-M, which they share with Toyota A. Newly promoted Yamanashi QB still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Hitachi Cougars and Ebara Vickies. Denso Iris will meet Niigata (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Yamanashi QB will play against Toyota A. (#4) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
