Regular Season Round 6: Ebara Vickies - Chanson V-M 50-83

WJBL top team - Chanson V-M (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Ebara Vickies (0-6) in Tokyo 83-50. The game without a history. Chanson V-M led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ebara Vickies to just 6 points in second quarter. Chanson V-M made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Ebara Vickies only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Ebara Vickies 47-27 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for center Miyuki Kawamura (183-94) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Center Yuki Toyama (176-91) replied with 15 points and Yuki Morimoto added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ebara Vickies. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chanson V-M have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record, which they share with JX Sunflowers. Newly promoted Ebara Vickies still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Hitachi Cougars and Yamanashi QB. Chanson V-M is looking forward to face Fujitsu RW (#6) in Kawasaki in the next round where they are favorite. Ebara Vickies will play on the road against Mitsubishi K. (#5) in Nagoya and hope to get finally their first victory.
