VL Pesaro (#16) forced the game against Tuscany Pistoia (#15) into an overtime, but lost by five points 110-115 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 29-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 36-31. Tuscany Pistoia dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to VL Pesaro's 38 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) helped adding 29 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized Argentinian guard Bernardo Musso (193-86) responded with 29 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Four Tuscany Pistoia and five VL Pesaro players scored in double figures. Tuscany Pistoia (2-5) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Vanoli CR and JuveCaserta. VL Pesaro lost sixth consecutive game. Loser VL Pesaro stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Tuscany Pistoia will meet league's second-placed Montepaschi Siena on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VL Pesaro will play against Cimberio Varese (#8) and hope to win that game.
