Regular Season Round 6: Xinjiang FT - Qingdao E. 139-107

Bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to sixth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (4-2) 139-107. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Qingdao Eagles was better in fourth quarter 40-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 29-of-36 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Qingdao Eagles turnovers. Xinjiang Flying Tige shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) who recorded 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) added 25 points and 8 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Qingdao Eagles at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige's next round opponent will be Jiangsu Dragons (#15) in Nanjing which should be another easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against Shanxi Zhongyu and hope to get finally their first victory.
