Regular Season Round 16: Oita H.Devils - Kyoto Hannar. 69-73

Another exciting game was between fourth ranked Kyoto Hannar. and much higher ranked Oita Heat Devils where Kyoto Hannar. (9-5) beat Oita Heat Devils (8-6) on the road 73-69. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Oita Heat Devils. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Oita Heat Devils were ahead by 10 points after three quarters before a 24-10 charge of Kyoto Hannar., which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Crosse) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) replied with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Kyoto Hannar. moved-up to second place. Oita Heat Devils at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Hamamatsu P.. Kyoto Hannar. will play against league's second-placed Toyama Grouses at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oita Heat Devils will play against Takamatsu FA and hope to get back on the winning track.
