Round 7 in SerieA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Cantu where host Cantu (5-2) edged league's leader Montepaschi Siena (5-2) 90-88 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Montepaschi Siena. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 49-44 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) fired 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Michael Jenkins (191-86, college: Winthrop) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Cantu players scored in double figures. Cantu's coach Stefano Sacripanti used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Cantu moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Montepaschi Siena. Montepaschi Siena will play next round against Tuscany Pistoia trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cantu will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Enel Brindisi on the road.
