Regular Season Round 6: Mitsubishi K. - Hitachi Cougars 77-53

Bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Mitsubishi K. (4-2) 77-53. The game without a history. Mitsubishi K. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Mitsubishi K. outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 42-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. International center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Mitsubishi K.'s coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Hikaru Ogasawara (174-88) with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Ai Tominaga scored 11 points. Mitsubishi K. maintains fifth position with 4-2 record, which they share with Fujitsu RW. Newly promoted Hitachi Cougars still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Yamanashi QB and Ebara Vickies. Mitsubishi K. will play against Ebara Vickies (#10) in Tokyo in the next round where they are favorite. Hitachi Cougars will play at home against Aishin Wings and look forward to get finally their first victory.
