Regular Season Round 7: Qatar - Al Ahli 105-88

Qatar Sports Club has finally registered their first victory this season after eight consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Al Ahli (1-8) 105-88 on Monday. Qatar Sports Club dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ahli's 50. Qatar Sports Club forced 19 Al Ahli turnovers. American swingman Chauncey Leslie (183-81, college: Iowa) fired 31 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals for the winners. His fellow American import center Jermaine Bell (213-84, college: Indian Hills CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Delonte Holland (201-82, college: De Paul) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and American-Nigerian power forward Alvin Mofunanya (203-87, college: Fair Dickinson) added 25 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Qatar Sports Club left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Al Shamal and Al Ahli. It was Al Ahli's sixth loss in a row. Qatar Sports Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Shamal.
