Regular Season Round 15: Boulazac - Denain 93-79

We should mention about the upset which took place in Boulazac, where higher ranked Denain Voltaire (7-8) lost to fifteenth ranked Boulazac Basket (6-8) in a road game 79-93. The game was mostly controlled by Boulazac Basket. Denain Voltaire was better in third quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Boulazac Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Denain Voltaire's players. It was an exceptional evening for Aurelien Salmon (203-87) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American swingman Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) accounted for 12 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Boulazac Basket's coach Sylvain Lautie allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Pierric Poupet (191-84) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for Denain Voltaire in the defeat. Four Boulazac Basket and five Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Boulazac Basket moved-up to fourteenth place. Denain Voltaire at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Boulazac Basket's next round opponent will be higher ranked Nantes (#13) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
