Regular Season Round 9: TU/Rock - Rapla 77-62

No shocking result in a game when third ranked TU/Rock (7-1) beat 6th ranked Rapla (3-7) in Tartu 77-62. They outrebounded Rapla 40-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. Rapla was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international Janar Talts (205-83) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four TU/Rock players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Dusan Sisic (206-90) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian center Ziga Fifolt (211-93) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TU/Rock moved-up to second place. Rapla lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Valga. TU/Rock will play against league's leader BC Rakvere on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rapla will play against Tln Kalev (#5) in Tallinn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
