Regular Season Round 8: Al Sadd - Al Jaysh 81-75

Date: November 27, 2013
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Doha: Al Sadd (#2) and Al Jaysh (#3). Al Sadd (7-2) won against visiting Al Jaysh (5-4) 81-75. The winners were led by international swingman Khalid Suliman (198-87) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and international Erfan Ali Saeed (198-83) supported him with 26 points. Even 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Anthony Roberson (189-83, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for Al Jaysh. His fellow American import center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Four Al Jaysh players scored in double figures. Al Sadd maintains second position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Rayyan. Al Jaysh at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Al Khor. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Rayyan.
