Regular Season Round 8: Al Arabi - Al Rayyan 66-71

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Rayyan (#1) and Al Arabi (#4). Al Arabi was defeated at home 66-71 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Al Rayyan outrebounded Al Arabi 52-38 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Yasseen Ismail Musa (203-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Jermareo Davidson (208-84, college: Alabama) who added 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Bosnian forward Adnan Hodzic (203-88, college: Lipscomb) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and American-Nigerian forward Kayode Ayeni (196-87, college: St.Francis, NY) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Rayyan (9-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Al Arabi at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Al Gharafa. Al Rayyan's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Sadd.
