Regular Season Round 15: Nitra - Inter Bratislava 80-83

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Nitra (10-3) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by Inter Bratislava (11-3) 83-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Nitra. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 10-3 record before this meeting. Inter Bratislava made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. International Michal Batka (204-87) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Patrick Sparks (184-83, college: Kentucky, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Slovenian center Salih Nuhanovic (208-82) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Nitra players scored in double figures. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Nitra at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. Inter Bratislava are looking forward to face Handlova (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nitra will play against Rieker KN (#3) in Komarno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
