Regular Season Round 7: Qingdao E. - Shanxi Zh. 124-110

Qingdao Eagles has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Shanxi Zhongyu (1-6) 124-110. It looked good early as Shanxi Zhongyu took an 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Qingdao Eagles took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. 29 personal fouls committed by Shanxi Zhongyu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 29 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. American swingman Marcus Williams (200-86, college: Arizona, agency: Interperformances) answered with 43 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and the other American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) added 30 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Shanxi Zhongyu. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Qingdao Eagles left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Shanxi Zhongyu. Qingdao Eagles' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Sichuan BW (#18) at home.
