Regular Season Round 8: Al Ahli - Al Wakrah 89-110

The game in Doha supposed to be also worth to mention about. Seventh ranked Al Wakrah (4-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Al Ahli (1-8). Al Wakrah smashed Al Ahli 110-89. Al Wakrah players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Rwandan-American guard Kenny Wilson (193-84, college: Boise St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. American point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. American forward Delonte Holland (201-82, college: De Paul) replied with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and American-Nigerian power forward Alvin Mofunanya (203-87, college: Fair Dickinson) added 25 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Al Ahli. Al Wakrah maintains seventh position with 4-5 record. Al Ahli lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. Al Wakrah's next round opponent will be Al Shamal (#9) in Doha. Al Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Arabi.
