Regular Season Round 8: Shanghai S. - Guangsha L. 102-93

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Shanghai Sharks (7-1) beat at home 7th ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (4-4) 102-93 on Friday. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 36-32 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 93-102 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) who added 26 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Taiwanese guard Zhijie Lin (192-82) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shanghai Sharks have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Shanghai Sharks will have a break next round. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play at home against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
