Regular Season Round 8: Bayi R. - Xinjiang FT 90-83

An interesting game took place in Ningbo where higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (5-3) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Bayi Rockets (3-5) 90-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. It looked good early as Xinjiang Flying Tige took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bayi Rockets had a 24-15 second period charge getting the lead and Xinjiang Flying Tige was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-90. Bayi Rockets brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 33 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. The former international forward Lehei De (208-87) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) replied with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and international center Wei Su (212-89) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Xinjiang Flying Tige. Four Bayi Rockets and five Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bayi Rockets maintains thirteenth position with 3-5 record. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Bayi Rockets' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#18) in Taiyuan where they are favorite. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play on the road against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#8) in Hangzhou and hope to win that game.
