Regular Season Round 10: Svisloch - Sozh Gomel 80-75

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Osipovichi. Third ranked Svisloch faced their biggest opponent Sozh Gomel. Host Svisloch (7-3) defeated guests from Gomel (8-2) 80-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sozh Gomel. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 30-22 Sozh Gomel's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-75 at the end of the game. Svisloch forced 25 Sozh Gomel turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Evgeni Ivanov (202-84) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Sergej Vabischevich (190-88) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Pavel Bliznets (210-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the former international point guard Siarhei Charykau (185-82, college: Yakima Valley CC) added 21 points in the effort for Sozh Gomel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Svisloch have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-3 record having just three points less than leader Grodno-93. Sozh Gomel at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Svisloch will play against Prinemanye (#6) in Grodno in the next round. Sozh Gomel will play at home against Borisfen (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
