The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Spirou Charleroi (7-3) on the court of fourth ranked Okapi Aalstar on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Okapi Aalstar 86-61. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Spirou Charleroi. The game without a history. Okapi Aalstar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Naturalized American forward Ian Hanavan (202-80, college: Evansville, agency: Interperformances) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP) chipped in 22 points during the contest. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. Okapi Aalstar's coach Brad Dean felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Demond Mallet (186-78, college: McNeese St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Justin Hamilton (190-80, college: Florida) scored 11 points. Despite that victory Okapi Aalstar went down to fifth position due to points difference. Spirou Charleroi at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Okapi Aalstar are looking forward to face league's second-placed Liege Basket in Liege in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Spirou Charleroi will play at home against Leuven Bears and is hoping to win this game.
