Regular Season Round 7: Batumi - Maccabi Tbilisi 110-79
Date: November 29, 2013
Bottom-ranked Maccabi Tbilisi is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked Batumi (5-2) 110-79. The game without a history. Batumi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American swingman Jeremy Saffold (198-91, college: Wisc.-Parkside, agency: N.E.T.) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Junior Cadougan (187-90, college: Marquette) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Batumi's coach Mikhail Kobeshavidze felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Center Giorgi Periashvili (210-91) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds and center Levan Revazashvili (207-92) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Batumi. They moved-up to second place. Maccabi Tbilisi lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Batumi will have a break next round. Maccabi Tbilisi will play at home against Energy Invest (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
