No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Toros (9-2) crushed 9th ranked Lechugueros (7-9) in Nuevo Laredo 96-75 on Friday. The game without a history. Toros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Toros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard A.J. Gasporra (188, college: UTSA) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Adrian Henning (203-82, college: Austin Peay St.) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Toros' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Andre Joseph Tyronzic (191-81, college: Oregon) added 23 points respectively for Lechugueros in the defeat. Five Toros and four Lechugueros players scored in double figures. Toros have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 9-2 record. Loser Lechugueros keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Toros will meet at home Panteras (#7) in the next round. Lechugueros will play against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and hope to secure a win.
