Regular Season Round 8: Beijing Ducks - Guangdong ST 92-94

The most exciting game of round 8 in the CBA took place in Beijing. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-ranked Beijing Ducks (6-2) to top-ranked Guandong Tigers (8-0) 94-92 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Beijing Ducks won fourth quarter 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and international Jianlian Yi (212-87) who added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Five Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Li Gun (196-88) scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Guandong Tigers have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Beijing Ducks at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. Guandong Tigers are looking forward to face Fujian (#12) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Foshan (#11) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
