Regular Season Round 17: Akita NH - Gunma 105-84

BJ League top team - Akita Happinets (15-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Gunma (2-13) 105-84. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Gunma was better in fourth quarter 30-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akita Happinets players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) chipped in 22 points and 11 assists. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akita Happinets maintains first place with 15-2 record. Gunma lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Saitama Bron. and Shimane SM. Akita Happinets will again play against Gunma (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gunma will have a break next round.
