Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Sokhumi (#6) and Olimpi (#7). Sokhumi (3-3) won against visiting Olimpi (1-5) 82-74. Olimpi trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 33-22 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 74-82 at the end of the game. Sokhumi had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Maltese-American Darryl Jackson (189-85, college: Warner Pacific, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 assists. Forward Grigol Shvangiradze (196-91) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. International Nodar Tenieshvili (198-92) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Giorgi Gulisabedashvili (194-88, agency: Court Side) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for Olimpi in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sokhumi moved-up to fifth place, which they share with MIA Academy. Olimpi lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Sokhumi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena MIA.
