Regular Season Round 7: Yamanashi QB - Toyota A. 54-78

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (0-7) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Toyota A. (6-1) 78-54 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Toyota A. forced 19 Yamanashi QB turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Miki Huzii (165-87) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 steals. The former international guard Maya Kawahara (167-87) helped adding 16 points. Toyota A.'s coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Kasumi Yagi (165-92) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and Hatanaka Miho (177-85) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Toyota A.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Chanson V-M and Denso Iris. Yamanashi QB lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Toyota A. will have a break next round. Yamanashi QB will play again at home against Toyota A. (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
