Not a big story in a game in Tokyo where 6th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (4-15) were defeated by second ranked Toyota Alvark (13-6) 98-84 on Saturday. American forward Jeff Jeffrey (188-80, college: Otterbein) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 18 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Darius Rice (208-82, college: Miami, FL) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota Alvark have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 13-6 record having four points less than leader Aishin SH. Hitachi Sunrockers lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 15 games lost. Toyota Alvark's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Hitachi Sunrockers.
