Regular Season Round 9: Slask 2 Wroclaw - Cieszyn 85-51

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Slask 2 Wroclaw (5-5) smashed at home 10th ranked Cieszyn (2-7) 85-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Slask 2 Wroclaw. Cieszyn was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Artur Wnetrzak (193-95) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and power forward Przemyslaw Hajnsz (206-82, agency: Promotex) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Slask 2 Wroclaw players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Adam Hajduk (190-83) scored 6 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Slask 2 Wroclaw. Newly promoted Slask 2 Wroclaw maintains seventh place in Group B with 5-5 record. Cieszyn at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Slask 2 Wroclaw will face AZS Pol.Cz-wa (#11) in Czestochowa in the next round. Cieszyn will play on the road against Gimbasket Wroclaw and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
