Regular Season Round 11: Cognac - Saint-Brieuc 80-85

There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Saint-Brieuc (3-8) won against on the road 14th ranked Cognac BB (3-8) 85-80 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cognac BB won fourth quarter 32-31. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint-Brieuc looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Cognac BB was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Norwegian-American guard Terrence Oglesby (188-88, college: Clemson) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 6 assists. Forward Jimmy Lupot (190-83) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Saint-Brieuc players scored in double figures. Saint-Brieuc's coach Denis Mettay used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Lamine Sambe (188-89) answered with 30 points and 5 assists and forward Samba Dia (201-84, college: West Plains JC) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cognac BB. Saint-Brieuc moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Cognac. Saint-Brieuc will face Pontoise (#17) in Cergy in the next round.
