The game in Canberra was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Sydney Uni Flames (5-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Canberra Capitals (4-8). Sydney Uni Flames defeated Canberra Capitals 81-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sydney Uni Flames. Canberra Capitals managed to win fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sydney Uni Flames forced 21 Canberra Capitals turnovers. Guard Katie-Rae Ebzery (177-90) nailed 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and guard Lauren King (182-84) accounted for 17 points. Sydney Uni Flames' coach Karen Dalton used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Natalie Hurst (164-83) came up with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and naturalized British center Alex Bunton (198-93, college: Wichita St.) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Canberra Capitals in the defeat. Four Canberra Capitals players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sydney Uni Flames. They moved-up to fifth place. Canberra Capitals at the other side keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Sydney Uni Flames will meet at home Adelaide Lightning (#6) in the next round. Canberra Capitals will have a break next round.
