Regular Season Round 8: Olympiacos - Aris 93-61

A1 top team - Olympiacos (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Aris (3-5) in Athens 93-61. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Aris was better in third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aris to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Olympiacos dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aris' 38. Olympiacos forced 20 Aris turnovers and outrebounded them 34-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. The former international forward Michalis Pelekanos (198-81) added 15 points for the guests. Olympiacos have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Aris at the other side dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Olympiacos will play against Panelefsiniakos (#7) in Eleusina in the next round where they are favorite. Aris will play at home against Ilysiakos and hopes to get back on the winning track.
