Regular Season Round 7: Mitsubishi K. - Ebara Vickies 81-59

Very predictable result in Nagoya where fifth ranked Mitsubishi K. (5-2) smashed bottom-ranked Ebara Vickies (0-7) 81-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mitsubishi K.. Ebara Vickies was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ebara Vickies to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Ebara Vickies 48-28 including 20 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points. International center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) helped adding 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Mitsubishi K. players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Inamoto Satoko (165-84) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Yuki Toyama (176-91) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mitsubishi K.. They maintain fifth place with 5-2 record, which they share with Fujitsu RW. Ebara Vickies lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Mitsubishi K. will face again Ebara Vickies (#11) in Tokyo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
