Regular Season Round 8: Civitanova - Ferrara 53-65

Another exciting game was played in Civitanova Marche between third ranked Ferrara and one of their biggest challengers Civitanova where Ferrara (4-3) beat Civitanova (3-4) on the road 65-53. It looked good early as Civitanova took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ferrara took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Civitanova to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Civitanova 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guard Erika Aleotti (174-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Eleonora Laffi (188-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Veronica Perini (175-88) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) added 13 points and 6 steals in the effort for Civitanova. Ferrara moved-up to second place in Center, which they share with Broni. Civitanova at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Ancona. Ferrara will play against league's leader Vigarano at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Civitanova will play against Meccanica NB in Bologna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
