Regular Season Round 7: AE Ellinikou - Anagenisi 83-49

A1 top team - AE Ellinikou (7-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Anagenisi (2-6) 83-49. AE Ellinikou dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Anagenisi's 32. AE Ellinikou forced 19 Anagenisi turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Lykendra Johnson (185-89, college: Michigan St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Evina Stamati (181-84) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side the former international guard Nafsika Stavridou (182-86) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and international center Fedra Skiadopoulou (192-90) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AE Ellinikou have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Anagenisi lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Aris and PAOK. AE Ellinikou will play against Panathinaikos (#3) in Athens in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Anagenisi will play at home against Athinaikos (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
