Regular Season Round 8: Milano - Biassono 69-48

Date: December 1, 2013
Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Biassono (0-7) was outplayed on the road by third ranked Milano (5-2) 69-48 on Sunday. The game without a history. Milano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Biassono to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Biassono 38-23 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Susanna Stabile (178-80) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Center Alessandra Calastri (193-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Francesca Frigerio (177-95) produced 12 points and point guard Giulia Fumagalli (166-95) added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Milano have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position in North-West with 5-2 record behind leader Vigarano. Loser Biassono still closes the standings with seven games lost. Milano will face league's second-placed Genova on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
