Regular Season Round 8: Enel Brindisi - AV Cantu 75-74

The most exciting game of round 8 in the SerieA took place in Brindisi. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Cantu (5-3) to first ranked Enel Brindisi (7-1) 75-74 on Sunday evening. Cantu trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-75 at the end of the game. Enel Brindisi forced 23 Cantu turnovers. American guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import Ron Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St.) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Enel Brindisi players scored in double figures. The former international Pietro Aradori (194-88) replied with 28 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Cantu. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Enel Brindisi have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Cantu at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Granarolo BO and Virtus RM. Enel Brindisi are looking forward to face Granarolo BO (#4) in Bologna in the next round. Cantu will play at home against Juvecaserta and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
