Dist.Olimpico's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Tenerife (2-4) 74-57 on Sunday. The game without a history. Dist.Olimpico led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Tenerife's 22. Center Daira Varas (193-89) notched 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and power forward Elena Lopez (185-93) supported her with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Dist.Olimpico players scored in double figures. Dist.Olimpico's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Laura Bejarano (182-82) did not help to save the game for Tenerife. point guard Laura Fernandez (172-89) added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Dist.Olimpico (1-5) left bottom position moving up to tenth place in Group B, which they share with Barca CBS. Tenerife at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Leganes. Dist.Olimpico will meet Barca CBS (#10) in the next round. Tenerife will play against Araski AES and hope to secure a win.
