Regular Season Round 8: Sidigas AV - Vanoli CR 77-72
Date: December 1, 2013
Very expected game when 15th ranked Vanoli Cremona (2-6) lost on the road to tenth ranked Air Avellino (4-4) 77-72. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vanoli Cremona won fourth quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jeremy Richardson (201-84, college: Delta St.) who scored 29 points and 6 rebounds. Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Jason Rich (191-86) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized American guard Jarrius Jackson (183-85, college: Texas Tech) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Air Avellino moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Vanoli Cremona at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. Air Avellino's next round opponent will be higher ranked Montepaschi Siena (#3) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Vanoli Cremona will play against Umana Venezia (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
