Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Chieti and 9th ranked Roseto had identical 5-4 record. But Roseto was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Chieti 92-86 on Sunday night. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-17. But Roseto won second period 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chieti made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game. Roseto was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV, agency: Two Points) had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eight free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Simone Bonfiglio (181-88) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Five Chieti players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU) responded with 25 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Chieti (6-4) moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Roseto dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Chieti will face league's leader Naturhouse Ferrara at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Roseto will play against Agrigento (#4) and hope to win that game.
