Leading Maccabi Haifa (6-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were edged by tenth ranked Galil Gilboa (4-5) 79-76. Maccabi Haifa was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 41-34 second half run of Galil Gilboa. American forward Rick Jackson (206-89, college: Syracuse) nailed 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) accounted for 19 points. Galil Gilboa's coach Sharon Drucker allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Brian Randle (203-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the former international point guard Moran Roth (182-82, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 14 points and 7 assists respectively for Maccabi Haifa in the defeat. Galil Gilboa moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliyya and Netanya. Defending champion Maccabi Haifa still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Ironi Nes-Ziona and Hapoel J-M. Galil Gilboa will play against bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (#12) at home in the next round. Maccabi Haifa will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
