Bottom-ranked C.U.S. Chieti is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to ninth ranked Orvieto (3-5) 93-65. The game was mostly controlled by Orvieto. C.U.S. Chieti was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded C.U.S. Chieti 48-27 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Darxia Morris (172-89, college: UCLA, agency: Merit Management Group) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Azzurra Gaglio (183-89) who added 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Four Orvieto players scored in double figures. Orvieto's coach Tony Valentinetti felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) responded with 30 points and Argentinian point guard Debora Gonzalez (170-90, agency: Players Group) scored 12 points. Orvieto moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Venezia. C.U.S. Chieti at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Orvieto will play against higher ranked Cagliari CUS (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. C.U.S. Chieti will play against Lucca (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
