A very interesting game took place in Viterbo. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Catania (4-3) to seventh ranked Viterbo (1-6) 67-66 on Sunday evening. Catania was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 25-15 third quarter run of Viterbo. They also forced 29 Catania turnovers. The winners were led by guard Giulia Bernardini (176-91) who scored that evening 21 points and 8 steals and guard Lorenza Spirito (178-90) supported her with 16 points and 6 steals. Even a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds by Cuban forward Tania Seino (186-73) did not help to save the game for Catania. Czech center Renata Brezinova (190-90) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Viterbo maintains seventh position in Center-South with 1-6 record. Newly promoted Catania keeps the third place with three games lost. Viterbo's next round opponent will be higher ranked Brindisi (#5) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Catania will play against Napoli S.Dike and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
